This is from Bury St. Edmunds in East Anglia, England. I thought the design of the windows would make a great quilt design.

TJs Quilt

While my oldest son was in the Air Force, he was sent to England. He arrived in mid summer and complained about how cold it was so there; so I made him a quilt.

I took all his old blue jeans, patches from his JROTC and Civil Air Patrol Uniforms and other patches and embellished the back of the quilt. I also had a lot of old worn and torn BDUs and recycled the fabric from them by putting them in the "Window" of this faux cathedral window quilt.

Inspirations for quilt designs come from the world around me. These are pictures that have given me ideas for quilt designs. This first one is a building in Pompeii. This second one is of a sidewalk at Lake Como. (the dates on my camera were wrong it was supposed to be set to 2005)
